The data provided by all 107 Livery Companies, and from Guilds on their way to Company status, show that there are some 240 London schools in 32 Boroughs which are, or have recently, either received help from or enjoying a continuing link with a Livery Company or both. 42% of those schools are in Hackney, Islington, Southwark or Tower Hamlets. There are Livery Company governors at 34 (14%) of the 240 schools.

The Database offers a valuable tool for all Companies and for Livery schools link in sharing information on existing Livery support for schools and identifying where effort is currently directed. It enables Companies to consider where they might most sensibly develop any new links and where , and in what, they might encourage individual members to offer their services. In that context, the Database also identifies a group of schools in areas of significant deprivation, currently without Livery support, and enables Companies intending to extend their educational support readily to contact those schools.

Long-term partnerships between schools and Livery Companies have proved valuable in the past and it is a desirable objective for Livery Schools Link to help effect more such partnerships.
